EP 92: How To Intentionally Approach Discipleship With Your Kids This Year

SHOW NOTES:

When it comes to our kids, discipleship often feels like this big, intimidating thing that we know we need to do but we’re not quite sure how to do. Right?

Here’s the good news, friend: discipleship is actually quite simple, and it’s not something we need to stress about or feel pressure about.

It’s less about the big, planned moments and more about you as a parent making the conscious decision to center your life around Christ. When you make Christ the center of your home, discipleship is inevitable. As the apostle Paul said, follow me as I follow Christ.

So today we’re going to discuss what discipleship is, why we should care about it, and we’ll talk about two different types of discipleship and how to be sure they are both happening in your children’s lives. So lean in and let’s get into another episode of The Joy Filled Podcast.

“These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.” – Deuteronomy 6:6-9 CSB
